Box of 12 Forest Choice colored pencils

To enter: Have your child write a slogan or poem about living green and post it as a comment to this post by Wednesday, February 27, 2008!

Living as commercial-free as we possibly can, my six-year-old daughter didn’t really understand what a slogan was when I explained it to her. She was stumped at writing one; however, she is just learning about poetry in first grade. Sure, I have read to her Langston Hughes and Shel Silverstein, but I don’t think that she has ever written a poem before. This is her very first poem, and she wrote it without any assistance from me (other than dictating it for me to write).

I like recycling;

I like good food

and my bicycle too.

I like wooden toys

and yarn too.

Plastic is bad;

I don’t like it much.
