I am all for homeschooling, but I do have my children attending public school right now. I am a stay at home parent, so going to a 4 day week would be ok with me because I have lots of appt. for the kids and they would prob not miss as much school, also I wont need to find daycare and possible could help out another family. There are some parents out there whom work their butts off already to provide for their children and needless to say without having to pay a babysitter, along with babysitter fees, I'm sure extras will become involved: gas money, food money, worrying, etc...Not to mention you are going to have to find someone who would actually want to babysit all day Friday, then you need to find someone who is good with your kids and make sure that person takes initiative to what you want for your kids, yeah this might be fine and dandy for you if you have older kids whom don't need a babysitter and you don't mind them getting into more trouble than what they are already for having a longer weekend. What happened to those parents who actually gave a care about this stuff. i always remember hearing the weekends were to long already because that is when the kids got into trouble the most because they would be running off with their friends doing god only knows what. No ones an angel these days. OK, not only the day off but also the longer hours..... There are kids out there who are learning deficient and even without that deficiency those kind of hours are bound to make a kid get bored with school and faster than what they would in the normal school time setting. I think this idea was thought of by those who have no worries, those who want more time in a day to themselves, etc.....
