Try running some of them under water, if they disintegrate-then they are made from corn starch and are a very responsible alternative to the traditional packing peanuts. You can even eat them-they are non-toxic!

If they are light green and shaped like an 8, then they were at least recycled and *supposedly* will biodegrade within 90 days. They're still made from not eco-friendly stuff though.

I just am opening a box of Eco Store's products and have not yet reviewed them as I'm just testing them today. The claim is that the packing peanuts are made with soy...I'm researching that right now....still seems that it contains some component of plastic. Whereas corn based packing material appears to be all-natural. Hmmm..

I reuse all my packing peanuts when I ship things out, plus I've noticed most peanuts these days are the cornstarch kind

Even if the peanuts aren't biodegradable, maybe they recycle packaging? At least that's a good start, esp for a startup who might not be able to afford biodegradable peanuts.

Nate, I emailed them and they were very apologetic, saying they were a startup and were doing the best they could.

Naturally it was only after having pitched the box that I remembered I should have tested them with water to see...

Maybe they're those packing peanuts made out of cornstarch and will biodegrade in a landfill?
