Many of the studies are done by the companies producing these animals, which seems sort of biased. Maybe raising the public awareness of genetic modification in food animals would encourage studies by outside research centers to see the possible effects. I think it is important to note not just the possible health risk to human beings, but the risk to the environment of genetically modified animals.
