Thanks for the last tips. An hour ago I left my daughter feeling her normal "weird Mom" just beforre she goes into labour. This is going to be baby no 4 and no 3 at home. this time we have got very "smart" and along with our family GP of 24 years(my daughter was a year old when he arrived in our small town and we have all been together ever since) I am going to be the midwife. To me it is the most amazing privilege to be with my daughter and her family when she gives birth. The girls potter around doing their own thing, popping in every now and again to see how things are going and my son in law is definitely the other half. it is so special. I had a truly traumatic and awful birth with my daughter so experiencing my granddaughters' births has been such a healing of memories. My good wishes for the special time ahead of you.
[...] I feel great. I have Braxton Hicks contractions almost daily about 3-4 times a day. Funny feeling to say the least. Makes me feel like it could be the “Big One” anytime. Little teasers from the body. I don’t crave anything abnormal…just eat healthy and eat a lot! I do especially like avocados, pineapples and hummus with pita chips right now! We are pretty much ready to go as far as a homebirth goes. Which by the way, I wrote a post about it here.
We UCed and one thing I wish I had thought of was a mirror and a pitcher of water. After the birth, it would have been nice to have the water to rinse myself off and a mirror to check for tears. We'll have it next time, though!
