I HEART this post!!! Living in uber-conservative Utah (in the states) Green living is often looked at as some sort of hippie-ritualism...

And I have sooo much guilt about everything.... thank you for your perspective! LOVE IT!

FWIW, Annie's Homegrown makes a great line of boxed mac-n-cheese that are organic and made with real cheese. It's still processed food, but a better indulgence than Kraft IMHO.

I live by the 90/10 rule- if 90% of the time I make the "right" decision, then I don't sweat the other 10% :-)

I couldn't agree more.

The other factor in all of this is that a lot of green products just don't work as well as . . un-green products do. So what one is willing to put up with is a personal trade-off as well.

I think this is important for moms and families to hear because it does not help to add guilt over what else you could be doing.

It's also important to hold a healthy attitude towards going green and *keep moving forward*. It's not a journey with an end in sight. It is not enough to just recycle or bring reusable bags. We need to change our habits large scale, but that of course happens step by step.

So be open and discriminating about new changes and make good choices for your family. Be aware that this next decade will be especially full of changes and the less we resist, and the better our choices the easier all the transitions will be for us. Sounds like you already are ;-)

Great Points!
I agree that the point is not to drive yourself crazy trying to do everything perfectly 'GREEN'. It's important to do what you can, as much as you can. One step at a time, one habit formed at a time, one step closer every day/week/month/year!

By the way I would love a post with your Poori bread recipe as, I am sure, would everyone!

Thanks!
