greenPotsIf you are looking for the greenest of the greenĀ planters for planting small container gardens check out greenPots.

GreenPots are eco-friendly planters made from rice hulls. They contain no petroleum products, are completely sustainable, and will break down naturally. GreenPots can even be composted.

I received a greenPot from emagineGreen which is a home party, green consulting company that sells products through Green Coaches. Some of the products they sell are the greenPots, which come in several earthy colors and in various sizes.

Mine is like the one in the photo except it is a cool avocado shade of green which I love. I have dubbed it the salad bowl since I planted some organic lettuce and spinach in it.

I really love the bowl. It has an awesome, natural, smooth, but grainy feel to it and it is very lightweight. No hauling around a terra cotta pot that weighs a ton. Plus it is very stylish and mod.

At emagineGreen the greenPot is sold as the Organic Lettuce Planter for $21. It comes with the pot, the saucer and two packs of organic lettuce seeds.

I am thrilled that soon I am going to have fresh lettuce that I can step out on my porch and grab for the freshest of fresh salads from the local-est of sources.

My kids had fun helping me plant our salad bowl (and other veggies in the big garden) and even my three year old is into gardening now. Everyday he wants to water our plants. And the ones in pots on our porch are his domain, those are hisĀ to take care of.

Do these last only one season or many?

Wow I hope they sell these or something similar in the UK, my daughter is only 21 months old and she loves getting green fingers already :) .
