I read that the legs of a baby should not hang down instead the knees should be at least at the same height as the hips or that when you walk the baby´s legs should not be in your way. I used a baby wrap with my son and loved it. And those you can use for a long time since they´re not really made for a certain height or weight. I think the Ergo may last longer as the child ages. I just had to say that there are carriers, slings and wraps out there that are much better than Baby Bjorn carriers. As I understand it; the Baby Bjorn carrier has the baby in a 'hanging from the crotch' position, which is not good for their hip and spine development. The way the Baby Bjorn distributes weight is also not very good for the person wearing it - it hangs all the weight off of the person's shoulders.
