[...] think the Salad Bowls would be a great way to get kids excited about greens. Kids definitely are more likely to eat their veggies if they grew them [...]

Earth Day – Reusable Bags, Grocery Bags, Totes, cotton bags

Earth Day 2010 all people, regardless of race, gender, income, or geography,we all have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment. Our mission is to broaden and diversify the environmental movement worldwide, and to mobilize it as the most effective vehicle for promoting a healthy, sustainable environment. We at Crafts and Creations, encourage registered charities and offer them eco-friendly cotton canvas fabric bags / totes at no profit no loss basis.

We wish to encourage Teachers, Schools, Universities and Churches to promote this campaign across the world. Each one of us has to strive to create a healthy and sustainable environment and inform the public about the environmental issues – locally, nationally and globally.

Earth Day 2009, April 22 marked the beginning of The Green Campaign. Let us use, Organic Cotton bags, green totes, cotton bags, canvas bags and avoid usage of Plastics which are majorly responsible for the present Global Warming.

The desire is to broaden environmental sustainability by reaching out to all segments of the world by combing interactive social networking with proven environmental and behaviour. We welcome suggestions from people from all walks of life using a compressive web-based blog Earth Day Blog

First of all, I want to say that as a former teacher, I know how difficult it is to get faculty in staff in unity on a project of this scale. So my kudos to the UK for having such great success in implementing that program.

ITA that kids should be involved in growing their own food (adults, too, a-hem) from as young an age as possible. This coming year, my 3yo DS will have his own square in the garden to grow a few veggies. He will learn the importance of watering, handling plants gently, and maybe even looking out for pests.

A woman in our community started a similar study/project years ago ,with the same findings and used our school as the pilot programming. Now the program is being used in other schools, too. Here's her organization: http://www.foodstudies.org/

Our school is now building a greenhouse & outdoor garden to service the cafeteria. They already have a small garden for curriculum integration but this one will be larger scale.

Our school also composts & uses the compostable silverware & dishes (made from cornstarch). Then of course the compost is used on the gardens :)
