At age 9, Canadian Severn Cullis-Suzuki started the Environmental Children’s Organization.

At age 12, she addressed the UN’s 1992 Rio Earth Summit and silenced the world for five minutes.

Severn’s most recent project is The Skyfish Project, asking westerners to sign the Recognition of Responsibility:

Today I recognize that I am part of one of the most powerful countries in the world. My population is only a fraction of the globe’s population, yet we use far more resources. So today, I pledge to take responsibility for me lifestyle.

Severn is an amazing young woman who has committed her life to the environment. I hope my own children will follow in her footsteps.
