Organic Kids' Fashion: Petite Miette Playtime Wrap

Petite Miette organic cotton playtime wrapPetite Miette is French for “little crumb” and is named for pet rabbit founder Sarah Conley Odenkirk met her senior year of college in France. This socially and environmentally responsible company makes 100% organic cotton and environmentally friendly dyed products that are good for your children and the planet.  The enviro-consciousness of Petite Miette goes beyond the products to recycled and FSC certified packaging materials, as well.

Organically grown and made in the USA, Petite Miette’s Playtime Wrap is soft and snuggly.  Designed to be worn over clothing, such as a onesie, this kimono style wrap will keep your child warm on even the chilliest days.  Let’s face it:  our kids spend a lot of time on the floor, which is the coldest, draftiest part of the house.  I only wish Petite Miette would make a playtime wrap in my size; I don’t think I would ever take it off.

Organic cotton is a much better choice for our health and the enviroment than convential cotton. As Petite Miette explains:

Conventionally farmed cotton uses large amounts of pesticides and is then subjected to numerous chemical treatments as the cotton is prepared for fabric production and use. Conventional cotton products are also generally dyed using chemicals and processes involving heavy metals. Thus, conventional practices not only put a tremendous strain on our environment, but they potentially expose us to harmful chemicals. Farmers raising organic cotton rely on sustainable agricultural practices that use fewer resources, resulting in an overall smaller carbon footprint, and emitting fewer greenhouse gases.

I love it when I can dress my kids and myself in all organic fashion.  It just feels so good!

Ooooh, I may have to start using that phrase!
    Petite Miette.

Ironically, I’ve been calling my toddler “Crumbs” lately. The French version sounds more refined 🙂
