My kids have been exposed to yoga from the moment they were born (well actually, they were doing yoga in utero). Sometimes they chose to join in with my practice (my four-year-old son’s favorite asana is savasana), and sometimes they don’t.
They have their own eco-friendly mats, but that is the extent of their own yoga goodies until we got the YogaBuddies CDs.
Good Morning Good Night with YogaBuddies is 2 CD yoga instructional series designed to help KIDS begin and end their day with a dash of fun and a lot of peace and calm. Created by Danay DiVirgilio, a leader in yoga for kids , these CDs offer kids an empowering tool to feel healthy, peaceful and relaxed.
The Good Morning CD helps kids get energized and focused for the day with 22 poses and affirmations.
The Good Night CD teaches kids 18 poses to stretch, unwind and calm themselves as they get ready for bed. This CD also includes a breathing technique to prepare kids for a restful sleep.
The YogaBuddies CDs comes with a poster to help children (and adults) picture the poses, but the descriptions on the audio CDs are very well done in the soft voice of Danay DiVirgillo. I also like how the CDs give my children a chance to practice yoga independently on their own.
I plan to use these yoga CDs designed for kids in the physical education class I teach for grades first through third. I am always amazed at the lack of flexibility and focus some of these students exhibit, and yoga will help them attune their bodies and souls. I am a firm believer yoga belongs in the classroom. YogaBuddies CDs would be great for homeschool too.

I’ve frequently tried to find yoga videos or something similar for my hyperkinetic and SPD son, anything to help him learn to control his body! You’d think his competitive gymnastics training would do that, but while it certainly helps give an outlet to his energy, now he’s just stronger and faster with his fidgeting lol…
Anyway, I’ve never yet found anything that really clicked for us. So I will check into these CD’s, thanks for the tip!

Sounds neat! For what ages are they appropriate? My son is almost 2.

MamaWendy, I am the creator of the YogaBuddies Good Morning Good Night CD set. The CD set was designed for ages 7 and up to practice individually. It could also be used with younger children practicing with guidance from parents. Almost 2 might be too young. But if you stay tuned we have a DVD coming out by the end of March. You can check out YogaBuddies.com for more details. Thanks for your interest!
