When I first found “B is for Bob” kids’ t-shirts, I thought they were so cute. Now, there is a children’s album with the same name.
B Is for Bob is a collection of original Bob Marley songs re-imagined for kids and fans of all ages!! The international musical legend’s eldest son, four-time Grammy winner Ziggy Marley, executive produced the album, which bridges the gap between the timeless Bob Marley and a new generation of kids.
Bob Marley’s music touches people of all ages. With children in mind, Ziggy has transformed 8 of his father’s songs while leaving 4 of Bob Marley’s other masterpieces untouched.
Released just in time for summer, this is the perfect album for the entire family to enjoy!
Although Ziggy is not my favorite Marley son (I like Stephen, Damian, and Ky-Mani), I had to download this album for my kids. Is it really necessary to buy a separate Bob compilation for your children rather than simply playing the originals? Probably not, but the added xylophones remind me of Baby Einstein, and the children’s voices add a pleasant touch. Perhaps this is just another attempt to sell music for a long lost musician, but I do enjoy listening to B Is for Bob. It’s never too early to introduce your kids to uplifting music of Bob Marley.

Bob is hands-down the dh’s favorite. I wonder how much he’d like this for the mini dreadhead and dreadhead-in-the-making.
I’ll have to check it out!

Hi ,
I was checking out your blog on children’s songs, and thought you and your readers would be interested in a new children’s album called “When you Wish Upon a Song” by Stephen Michael Schwartz. The album is a compilation of Disney cover songs. Stephen has been creating children’s music since 1984 in his highly successful band Parachute Express.
Parachute Express released the multi award-winning album, Doctor Looney’s Remedy, which received many awards, including the prestigious Indie Award for Best Album for Children (The Grammy for Independent Retailers). Their newest recording, Don’t Blink, has garnered three prestigious awards — The Parents’ Choice Gold Award, The NAPPA Award for Audio Excellence and The Top Creative Toy Award.
Stephen is also composer/lyricist on It Came from Beyond, a sci-fi musical spoof that takes place in the ’50’s. It was nominated for six Ovation Awards (the Tonys of Los Angeles) including “Best Musical – World Premiere” and “Best Musical in An Intimate Theatre”. It won for “Best Supporting Actor”.

Bob Marley’s music continues to transcend through generations! This is fantastic thank you for sharing! I also have a suggestion for family music. I’m really excited about this folk rock band called Trout Fishing in America, http://www.troutmusic.com/
They’ve been nominated for a few Grammy’s and have books for kids out too! You can never have enough good tunes!
