Uninspired

Eight Flying Doves

As I peruse my Google Reader and inbox, I am uninspired to write today.  I am tired of BPA, kids losing recess, overuse of antibiotics, Facebook and teachers, Barbie, gut allergies…These are all topics I considered writing about today, but instead, I write nothing.

As a daily blogger, I don’t often feel lack of motivation.  In fact, it is usually the opposite.  I bookmark or flag interesting articles that I can’t wait to share and add my two cents on. Today is not one of those days, and I am honoring my lack of enthusiasm.

It’s important to give yourself a break.  We go, go, go from laundry to school to work to cooking to…Parenting is a busy lifestyle.  Cut yourself some slack sometime and don’t feel guilty about it.  I’m going to play scrabble instead of write today.  It’s a mini-vacation.  I suggest you take one too!

My “uninspired” time came upon me simply due a simple food poisoning episode that left me pretty unable to accomplish anything. I am way past motherhood but have an active relationship with 16 grandchildren so taking this break even affected them. I too agree with Jennifer that we all need to take a break (even as in my case is a forced one). The downtime for me has been very reflective. I am actually enjoying it!

Just started meditating for 10 minutes a day, so far perfectly imperfect. I never realised the constant unconscious self demands to keep busy, act, function,be productive…blah, blah, blah. Irony is I’m self employed and unwell.. bugger’m….block of chocolate, cup of tea, good trashy book and a cat on my lap. Splendour! Love the blog, keep it up. D.
