Mother’s Therapy Organics hand sanitizer & germ fighting lotion

Screen Shot 2013-12-11 at 9.05.23 PM

Wash, wash your hands,

Wash them good clean,

Wash them here,

Wash them there,

Wash them in between.

When I taught preschool for eight years, this was the song we sung to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” while washing our hands. The idea was to keep kids washing their hands long enough to kill germs, as well as instill good hand washing habits. This song still pops into my head at times when I cleanse my hands.

I’ve never been a big fan of hand sanitizers…kind of an old fashioned hand washer, but seeing that the Goddard School for Early Childhood Development endorses Mother’s Therapy Organics, I was excited to give it a try.

We were sent the following products to try:

Because of it’s 99.9% germ-kill ratio and just as importantly for kids, it’s quick-dry properties, we have chosen natural alcohol as the active ingredient in our Kids Hand Sanitizer. Contrary to popular belief, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer can leave skin softer than before use!

Mother’s Therapy Organics uses the purest organic and natural ingredients. As the natural alcohol evaporates, it leaves behind our skin-softening aloe vera-based lotion which becomes infused into the skin so no extra rubbing is required. The end result? A non-greasy hand sanitizer that can be used as often as needed without the worry of damage to sensitive skin.

A small dab of Mother’s Therapy Organics™ Germ-fight’n Hand Lotion prior-to and after a diaper change keeps baby — and yourself — healthy and clean.

Natural citrus essential oils and extracts power through germs naturally while soothing aloe vera encourages multiple daily use.

The alcohol-free clean smell and non-greasy formula is water-based and not thick like some lotions that stick to the top of skin.

Mother’s Therapy Organics Baby Lotion

A baby’s newborn skin is especially susceptible to absorption. It’s therefore essential that what you place on your baby’s skin will not damage the cells which are just building!

Mother’s Therapy Organics™ Baby Lotion is the natural alternative to rubs or creams that often do skin more harm than good. Our non-greasy lotion maintains the delicate balance found in babies skin while offering a relaxing sensation that soothes sensitive areas.

I love the name Mother’s Therapy Organics!  It just implies trust. The ideas of a lotion that also kills germs naturally…well that is brilliant.

Unfortunately, these products do contain retinyl palmitate, aka Vitamin A.  This item is near the end of the ingredient list, meaning it is in small quantity, but it does receive a rather high hazard score of eight from the Environmental Working Group (EWG).   That being said, Mother’s Therapy Organics has not been evaluated by EWG for overall hazard.

I love the cucumber fragrance of the hand sanitizer, and I do think it is handy to keep on hand when hand washing is not available.

Disclosure: The products described above were sent to us as free samples. Prior assurances as to the nature of the reviews, whether positive or negative, were not given. No financial payments were accepted in exchange for the reviews. The reviews reflect our honest, authentic opinions.
