A garden building has traditionally three walls that are enclosed and one that opens up to allow the outside to come in. Homeowners are able to have a planted indoor space that does not fit outside. In areas where backyards are not available, this is the solution.

This may seem unconventional but many homeowners that do not have proper outdoor space use this type of option. To understand the concept better, view some of the options at www.gardenspaces.co.uk – there are sure to be some ideas for you here.

How to use a Garden Building

To use a garden building like these, you will want to ensure that it is the right size first. It should not end up being cluttered. Hanging some plants on the walls is one option to maximize the space available.

Create shelving to display some potted plants.

Maximize space by:

  • Making multiple plant planters
  • Create wall growing stations using old palettes or repurposed furniture
  • Hang growing lamps rather than having standalone options
  • Make hanging baskets of lush flowers to hang from the ceiling to prepare for indoor use

These simple tips will ensure that you have enough space for every item that you wish to grow.

Adding a Garden Building Addition

Instead of using a detached option, consider adding an already built room to the back side of a home. These can be custom built to make sure that the dimensions are right. A door or walkway can be created to enter the garden space from the attached room.

The addition causes minimal renovation processes to be needed. In most cases, it is just a few fabrication elements. This should only take one afternoon.

Filling the Space

When you fill the space, the items that need the most light should be put in view of the door. Plants that only require partial sunlight can be placed anywhere. Consider a garden room that has solar panels or windows on the top side.

This lets more light come in and screens can be another option.

Incorporating the Outdoors into the Space

Consider using a sliding screen that can be pulled downward when the door is open. What this does is prevent debris from coming into the space. Letting fresh air in is good as it helps plants to grow.

The plants themselves will create oxygen to make the immediate space around the room have cleaner air. Again, the plants will grow to be heartier and fuller, even without a growing agent.

The concept of a garden room might be baffling to some, however once they see the benefits of having a garden reading or yoga room, they will soon change their minds.
