Friends of mine had their first baby yesterday. Watching the video of this newborn looking around and hearing the reactions of the family and midwife took me right back to that very moment with my first: so much awe. love, and amazement but also anxiety.
The responsibility of a newborn and first time parenting can feel daunting, especially in the wake of the exhaustion of labor. One of the best ways to combat this anxiety is information. A comprehensive baby guide is vital to new parents both in preparation and after the birth of their first child.
We were sent the most comprehensive baby guide I have ever seen!
The most comprehensive natural baby guide
Grow Healthy. Grow Happy. The Whole Baby Guide by Becky Cannon is amazing! It is divided into three parts:
Whole Baby
Whole Baby offers information about nurturing your child’s physical, emotional, and mental development. In each chapter you will find daily practices, theories, and essential skills to assist you in learning about and supporting your child’s health and well-being.
Whole Food
Whole Food discusses essentials to establish your baby’s holistic foundation for healthy eating. It includes food groups, recipes, menu plans, and suggestions for going out and for celebrating special occasions.
Whole Living
Whole Living is a comprehensive resource on products and their ingredients. You will find a guide and reference list of products that you need and what to look for when shopping and making choices for your baby.
Seriously, this book is amazing! I wish I would have had it when my children were young. Take for example the section on Wellness and Healing in the Whole Baby section. From advice on using essential oils to baby body meridians to hiccups, there is a wealth of information. Near the end of the Whole Baby section there is information on Essential Skills for Whole Learning with age specific developmental information, how to nurture, and appropriate toys.
I seriously think this is the most comprehensive baby guide I have ever seen that focuses on natural development and living. I strongly recommend it!
