Vegan Lemon Snow Ice Cream for Sensitive Teeth (plus giveaway)

vegan lemon snow ice creamThe snow is falling in many northern regions solidifying the holiday spirit.  One of my favorite winter childhood memories is making snow ice cream.  I’ve adapted a classic recipe for snow ice cream for my vegan daughter, plus I found a way I can also enjoy it even with my sensitive teeth!

Do you suffer from sensitive teeth?  Do you find yourself avoiding hot, cold, or acidic foods?  Do you chew on one side of your mouth?

I find myselft answer yes to the questions above.  This can be especially challenging during the holidays.  Who wants to skip out on snow ice cream or hot toddies?

Last year, I discovered Tom’s of Maine’s Rapid Relief Sensitive toothpaste. My bottom right molar is very sensitive.  I unconsciously chew food on the other side of my mouth.  I avoid cold foods. I never have ice in my drinks, that is until I discovered Rapid Relief.

New Tom’s of Maine Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste provides rapid release in 60 seconds* and offers long-lasting protection with continuous use. Unlike some sensitive toothpastes that only numb the pain, Tom’s of Maine Rapid Relief blocks the pathways to sensitive nerves to help seal out pain using a patented combination of arginine and calcium carbonate. It is the only toothpaste currently available in the U.S. to use this technology.

My dental hygeniest recommended  I use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth.  I tried several sensitive toothpastes, but they did not provide rapid relief nor were designed for daily use.  They also were not made from natural ingredients.

Tom’s Rapid Relief toothpaste is unique in that you can use it daily.  Not only does it provide relief, it actually helps to seal the nerve pathways to provide “long-lasting protection”.  The active ingredients are Arginine, and amino acid, and calcium carbonate. (It does contain sodium lauryl sulfate if that concerns you).  Go ahead, it acidic cold foods like vegan lemon snow ice cream!

If you can’t find organic sweetened condensed coconut milk in your local health food store, here is a recipe to make your own.

Last year after visiting Hawaii, we bought a shaved ice machine.  It’s a lot of fun in the summer and in the winter if you live where snow doesn’t fall.  Thanks to Rapid Relief, I don’t notice my sensitivity anymore even when visiting the dentist!

Thanks to Tom’s sensitive toothpaste, I can enjoy yummy vegan lemon snow ice cream without any pain.  Here’s how it works:
