Wow! It’s been 15 years since we originally reviewed dropps eco-friendly laundry pods (original post here) Over the years, the company, as well as myself, has made improvements on their product and packaging. No longer do the pods come in a plastic pouch. Now they come in a compostable, reuseable, recyclable cardboard box that even has a child safety lock, and they got rid of the blue color. Plus, dropps has expanded their laundry line to include fabric softener and oxi booster, as well as other household cleaning products for the kitchen too!

Made in America, dropps pioneered the eco-friendly laundry pod in 2005. Super convenient and made from clean ingredients with full company transparency, dropps continues to lead the way in eco-friendly cleaning pod cleaning products. According to the company, “Our plant-based products are dye-free, npe-free, chlorine-free, phosphate-free, and animal cruelty-free – so free, they’re freaking awesome.” These products are great for regular home use, but I especially like them for travel as well. I don’t want to sacrifice my green cleaning standards or expose myself to harsh chemicals, but it’s also hard when visiting family or staying in an AirBnb to buy a full size plastic jug for a short period of time. I love grabbing a handful of pods to get me through my travels.

Dropps was awarded the 2017 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for outstanding achievement in formulation and product manufacturing of both consumer and institutional/industrial products.

To qualify for the Safer Choice label, a product must meet EPA’s Safer Choice Standard, which includes stringent human and environmental health criteria. The Safer Choice program currently has about 500 formulator-manufacturer partners who make more than 2,000 products for both retail and institutional customers.

We were sent two dropps products to try: Sensitive Skin & Baby Laundry Detergent Pods Unscented and Dishwasher Detergent Pods Unscented.

I love the mess-free advantage of the dropps Sensitive Skin & Baby Laundry pods. Just toss them into your washer, then add the dirty clothes. No ginormous plastic jugs to attempt to recycle. No spills or messy soap. These pods are effective at cleaning in cold water and are designed for sensitive skin. Some reviews state the pods don’t completely dissolve in cold water, but that has not been my experience. Thankfully, they are unscented. I am personally affected by strong-smelling chemical laundry detergent which produces headaches. These laundry pods are safe for the entire family! Not only are they kind to delicate skin, but they are also equally as practical for delicate laundry items.

Dropps Dishwasher Detergent Pods Unscented are also super convenient. No more spilling dish powder or putting too much or too little into the dishwasher with these detergent pods. Mineral-based ingredients work effectively to remove food without pre-rinsing and leave wine glasses sparkling. Who wants to wash their dishes before they wash their dishes?

When using dropps dishwashing pods, no residue is left behind, and the pods dissolve fully. Combined with the super eco-friendly packaging, these pods are awesome!
