An Open Letter To My Husband On Valentines Day

Thank you Darling,

The last 13 years have been wonderful. I’ve had necklaces in champagne glasses, a proposal on Wesminster Bridge and gourmet dinners lovingly prepared when we lived on love (because we sure as heck weren’t living on money).

This year Valentine’s Day will be on a Saturday. I think we all know what that means.

This year Valentine’s Day is about all four of us being together. We’ll bake something pink and do a pomegrantine lemonade.

But darlin’ you’ve still got to pony up with some gifts. Here’s what I’m demanding I’d really like.

For the kids:

A tickle me plant. Last year we got a few of these and Alexander was so thrilled watching it grow. He checked it every morning and looked up the lifecycle of a plant so that he could learn more about it. Added bonus? It’s only $6 per child.

Also, it really does wiggle after the second set of leaves pop out. Call me easily entertained… but gosh it was fun, and they lasted for the better part of a year.

For me:

I want roses and labor. There’s a great little nursery over in West LA… (I’ll text you driving directions). If you could pick up a nice red rosebush, something fragrant and maybe a climber then we could spend the afternoon gardening.

And then later… well… maybe not in public.

Seriously, no decapitated flowers for me this year.

xoxo

Jessica

What a cool idea, Tickling a plant seems like much for fun then talking to it! I ordered the Tickle Me Plant Greenhouse, can’t wait to grow it with my kids.

Jessica that sounds like my mom, she doesn’t want plants that have been cut and are dying, she wants live ones. And thank goodness my father obliges. My mom has a green thumb and loves to use it. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Wow! What a cool plant. I have to get the TickleMe Plant Party Favors for my kids birthday party. What a great find Jessica! I love plants but never seen one close up when you Tickle It. This is one plant I will show off for sure. I will get the TickleMe Plant Book next.

Thanks for sharing with us all these great gift ideas; I think the homemade sun jar is a great cute gift. I can wait to try it out myself.

[…] I did make a few itsy, bitsy requests of you last week. But really, Valentine’s Day is like my Superbowl, and I’m getting all excited about it. […]
