College Farm Organics Going Out of Business

Mini Lunchbox tin full of NATUREPOPSOne of the great organic candy companies has suffered the consequences of the economy and is going out out of business. College Farm Organic will soon be no more. This announcement is on their site: “On February 3, 2009, The Quigley Corporation announced plans to consolidate operations by closing the Simon Candy plant in Elizabethtown, PA.  The decision was based on factors of increasing costs, competition from low-price imports, and the current economic situation.  This closing will cause the discontinuation of the College Farm line.”

More jobs gone because of a screwed up economy and cheap imports. Not only that now one of the sources of good, organic, Made in the USA candy is gone. College Farm are the makers of NATUREPOPS. The all natural, organic lollipops that were great to give out for Halloween and to stick in your kids Easter baskets.

The good news is you can still grab some of the NATUREPOPS and other organic candies at their online store SimonCandyShop.com while they are still available. Perfect for filling up the Easter baskets this year. Many of the candies are selling for super discounted prices so you might want to stock up while you can.

I grabbed a six pack of these adorable mini metal lunchboxes full of NATUREPOPS. Perfect for the kid’s Easter baskets. Plus the little metal boxes will make great toys for the kids to play with. I know my little guy will stick all kinds of stuff in it and my daughter will probably stash some lip gloss or something in it and carry it around for awhile or stick it on her shelf full of her private little trinkets.
