Pet and Child Proofing Your Home: DreamBaby Security Gate

I am not a proponent of play pens or cribs, but sometimes there is need for a safety gate.  When my kids were toddlers, we had one at the top and bottom of our stairs, but that was many years ago.  Now that we have a puppy, we needed a gate to keep the puppy out of part of the house and protect our floors and rugs.  Thankfully, DreamBaby came through.

We were sent a Dreambaby Swing Closed Security Gate.

Product Description

Dreambaby Swing Closed Security GateDreambaby Swing Closed Security Gate keeps kids away from prohibited zones of the home. These steel gates come with the required hardware and take only minutes to install. They are ideal for doorways, hallways or stairs.

Features

  • Prevents injuries in the home by blocking unsafe places from kids
  • Rounded top makes it attractive
  • Ideal for hallways, doorways or stairs and fits 28″ to 32″
  • Easy to operate, requires only one hand
  • Automatically shuts after closing
  • Opens in either directions
  • Easy to install; comes with hardware
  • 29″ tall
  • Made of steel

What I really like about this gate is it is pressure mounted, meaning it does not require you to drill holes into your door or hallway frames. We milled all the trim wood in our house from salvage timber on our property, and I will not put holes in it! Most security gates I have seen in stores require such mounting.

I did need to buy extensions to make our gate fit, but our doorway is not standard size, and it was easy to do.

There’s nothing eco-friendly about this child proofing gate, but I have yet to see one that is made from recycled metal or bamboo. Now, that would be cool.

disclosure: The products described above were sent to us as free samples. Prior assurances as to the nature of the reviews, whether positive or negative, were not given. No financial payments were accepted in exchange for the reviews. The reviews reflect our honest, authentic opinions.
