I first discovered Mrs. Meyer’s at the eco-friendly hair salon where I get my hair cut. I examined the lovely hand soap and cleaning products in the bathroom thoroughly, then was happy to see these products available in big retailers.
Mrs. Meyer’s continues to expand her line. We were just sent [amazon_link id=”B00GM5J6ZC” target=”_blank” ]Foaming Hand Soap[/amazon_link] in two varieties to try:
Watermelon:
Our Watermelon Foaming Hand Soap makes washing up fun and easy for the whole family. With the same essential oils and hard-working ingredients found in our Liquid Hand Soap, one pump is all you need for clean hands.
Ingredients are at least 98% naturally derived.
Apple:
Our Apple Foaming Hand Soap makes washing up fun and easy for the whole family. With the same essential oils and hard-working ingredients found in our Liquid Hand Soap, one pump is all you need for clean hands.
Ingredients are at least 98% naturally derived.
I love that Mrs. Meyer’s gives actually percentages in declaring ingredients as naturally derived, but it is important to remember that naturally derived is not necessarily the same thing as natural in truthful advertising. Mrs. Meyer’s is not trying to deceive consumers, like many beauty products using the word “natural”. “Naturally derived” is more honest.
These products are affordable ($3.99), something kind of rare with natural products. They are made in the USA.
After receiving these products, I decided to find out just who is Mrs. Meyer?
OUR INSPIRATION
MRS. THELMA A. MEYER
Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer is a real person with a real passion for keeping things neat and tidy. She is the inspiration behind Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day– household cleaners that work like the dickens but smell nice. Thelma, an avid gardener, wouldn’t have it any other way. With scents that are inspired by a midwest backyard garden, and products that are chock-full of plant-derived ingredients and essential oils, we’re continuously channeling Thelma’s passion for the environment. As a mother of nine, she was no-nonsense, and had a sensible approach to living a healthy and balanced life. It’s this balance that we hope to achieve with the products we make. Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer believes in a happy medium between perfectionism and a happy, “lived in” home. Ask Thelma and she’ll tell you that cleaning is something that just has to get done, so there’s more time to enjoy family and friends. So if you can make cleaning more pleasant, well, why wouldn’t you? |
Yes, we do need a happy medium between a sparkling clean home and a lived in used home. I often say that I would live in a really clean house if I lived at home, but I love my family more than my desire for cleanliness.
We were also sent a lovely all purpose towel made from organic cotton!
