Sand And Sky Mask Review: Detox, Purify, & Brighten Your Skin Naturally

detox skinWhy detox your skin?

Your skin is the largest organ of your body.  Healthy skin is important in maintaining proper overall health, yet it is often overlooked when it comes to detoxification.  Detox cleanses and teas are popular, but the skin is rarely treated.  Our facial skin is always exposed to pollution and the elements causing premature aging and a dull, lackluster complexion.  Sand And Sky offers a natural solution with their natural pink clay mask.

Air born pollutants, dirt, makeup can clog your pores.  Toxins from your diet can also show up in your complexion.  To remove these toxins and give skin a beautiful glow, we tried Sand And Sky Brilliant Skin Mask.  Made from pink Australian clay and botanicals, this mask promises a 4 in 1 treatment for your skin in just ten minutes:

  • Detoxifies
  • Invigorates
  • Refines
  • Brightens

 Sand And Sky Mask Review

We tried this product on my middle age skin and my daughter’s youthful skin (it worked on both!).  This clay mask comes premixed. I really like how this made it super easy to use removing the guessing game of how much water to add.  We both really liked using brush applicator.  It made the process much cleaner and easier, especially around the eyes.

The first thing we noticed was how cooling and soothing the clay felt against our facial skin.  This feeling lasted well after the mask was removed.  As the clay dries, it changes from pink to almost white. That’s how you know it is time to remove it.

detox skinClay has long been touted for its purifying qualities.  According to homeopathy doctor Margo Marrone, “Clay’s negative charge attracts the positive charge of the impurities and pulls them toward the skin’s surface, where they’re whisked away when you remove the mask.”((http://www.prevention.com/beauty/natural-beauty/full-body-beauty-detox-healthy-skin-hair-and-teeth)) Unlike other clay masks I have tried, Sand And Sky did not make me feel like my skin was being dried out.  Normally, I can’t stand to leave a clay mask on for more than a few minutes, but I had no problem with Sand And Sky. It was not irritating.  I was able to get the full benefit of removing toxins, as well as clearing and shrinking pores, by leaving the product on for ten minutes.

After removing the mask, I felt like my skin had a healthy, summer glow.

No Nasties!

Sand And Sky does not include any “nasties” in their mask.  There are no parabens, and it is cruelty-free. That is important because you do not want to be adding toxins and bad karma into your detoxifying skin care routine.

It’s important to detox your skin not only for appearance sake, but as part of your overall health regime. Unlike other clay masks that can be irritating and a bit harsh, Sand And Sky Brilliant Skin Mask is soothing and effective.  I felt my skin was softer and smoother after one application.  My pores were smaller, especially on my nose.  The effects were noticeable the following morning, especially on the two blemishes I had.  They were almost entirely healed.  Smoother, clearer skin and quickly healed blemishes after only one treatment…I can only imagine how my skin’s appearance will improve with regular use.

August update:  I haven’t been using this mask regularly, but when I remember, I still see big improvements!  It’s fun to use and reminds me to slow down and take the time to nourish my skin.

I haven’t tried this mask, but I might have to after this post! Thank you! Do you recommend any other detoxes? For me, “life in moderation” is the motto my “detox” takes, but I would love to hear your opinion on juice cleanses, sugar detoxes, etc.

I am personally not a fan of juice cleanses. Our liver is constantly removing toxins from our body. I think it is better to eat your fruit and vegetables than to juice them. The fiber is good for you! Getting off sugar is definitely good. Moderation is key!
