The Most Comfortable Underwear is Made of Hemp: WAMA Review

My WAMA hemp bra and underwear

Finding comfortable underwear that stays in place is challenge. I have spent so much money trying different brands and shapes. Due to the personal nature of undergarments, it’s frustrating to shop for as you can’t really try them on in a store, and most places do not accept returns. That’s why I was completely amazed when I tried on the WAMA hemp underwear and bra, and they were perfect! Blown away! And it’s hemp!

I would never think that hemp would be a good material for under garments, but I was wrong.

Why Hemp?

Hemp fabric is naturally anti-bacterial, with anti-odor properties. Super comfortable, breathable and gets softer with every wash. Hemp is also organic, eco-friendly and can help save the planet. Hemp is the perfect fabric for your underwear. Why Not Hemp?

As an active person, comfort and breathability are essential. I’ve tried recycled, synthetic underwear before but the lack of breathability and the funky odor are drawbacks for long hikes, yoga classes, or backpacking. It’s also not healthy for your genitalia.

We were sent three WAMA products to try.

  • Bikini Underwear
  • Thong Underwear
  • Triangle Bralette

I’m always nervous ordering underwear not know what size to get, but the WAMA underwear size chart was spot on. The comfort of each piece is undeniable, and they are very flattering! Plus, there’s very little risk with WAMA’s satisfaction guarantee: “Relax! If for any reason you are not happy with your first pair of underwear, we will send you a new size, color or issue you a refund. No questions asked & no returns needed.”

The WAMA bikini underwear is my favorite of the three! It has enough coverage with a little bit of cheekiness to be sexy but stay in place and keep you covered. It’s made of 53% hemp, 44% organic cotton, and 3% spandex. The waist band is soft and comfortable across your hips. The hemp and organic cotton fabric has a positive impact on the climate as it uses 3% of the water used in conventional cotton products, which translates to 101.1 days of drinking water saved from just one pair of underwear! Furthermore, the hemp fabric uses 18% less energy equal to 106.2 hours of LED bulb energy use, and that’s an efficient light bulb!

I have never been much of a thong wearer, but I do like how they eliminate panty lines in yoga pants and tights. The WAMA thong underwear is as comfortable as the bikinis. They perform exactly as you want them to, which should be the goal of all underwear…to be so comfy you don’t even notice that you are wearing them. Just like the bikinis, the hemp/cotton blend is very eco-friendly, soft, and sustainable. The breathability is perfect for all weather climates and workouts to keep you healthy down there.

Perhaps the WAMA hemp underwear item I was least sure about was the Triangle Bralette. I was worried it wouldn’t be very flattering or the fit would be off. Just like every other product I have tried from WAMA, I was pleasantly surprised at its perfection. The fit is foolproof and flattering, and it is oh so comfortable and satisfying to wear. It offers easeful support, and it won’t get stinky like synthetic fabrics.

Another amazing aspect to the hemp blend fabric used and developed by WAMA underwear is its durability. Obviously, hemp is a stronger fabric than cotton, but did you know hemp is stronger than steel? There’s nothing worse than finding in a hole in your favorite pair of underwear. With WAMA, you know that will not happen for a very long.

Long lasting products is an important aspect of sustainability, in addition to means, methods, and materials of production. Repeatedly replacing items is not affordable and wastes additional resources.

Wama Underwear has managed to combine softness, breathability, comfort, and durability with their line of hemp blend personal garments. With free shipping and the first pair guarantee, there is no reasonable reason not to try them!
