WTF?: Win a Trip to Disneyland from Mama Bite

Sign up for the Mama Bite and win a trip to Walt Disney World Resort.

I’ve long been a fan of Ideal Bite and was excited when they introduced Mama Bite!

From family road trips to eco-friendly sunscreen to DIY crafts, Mama Bite gives you bite-size ideas for living light green this summer. Fun, healthy, eco-friendly tips are served up in a daily email each weekday.

Last week, we received a press release about the Celebrate Summer contest on Mama Bite.

Subscribe to the Mama Bite from June 1 – June 30, and enter for the chance to win a vacation for four to the Walt Disney World® Resort, including a special behind-the-scenes experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom®.

If you’ve been reading Eco Child’s Play long, you know I am not a fan of Disney.  From hiring casino capitalists to target young boys to corporate greenwashing, I was surprised the folks at Ideal Bite would partner with Disney. I just don’t get it, but you can enter the contest, and I won’t judge you.

Now if I ran the world, green websites and services would offer green family adventures as a prize. How about family yoga retreat to Peru from World Family Yoga?  That’s a contest I could get behind! (Sorry, can’t afford to offer such a trip to Eco Child’s Play subscribers yet…maybe someday.)

Jennifer,

Mystery Solved.

Disney owns Ideal Bite. They acquired it for $20 million last year. That’s the connection…And Disney is all over anything “green” these days because of the Mom-connection.

Thanks, Lynn. That’s it; I’m unsubscribing. Sneaky greenwashing.
