As Moms we spend an incredible amount of time to ensure health and safety for our children. Are we doing the same thing for ourselves? Afterall, leading by example is the best thing we can do. This has left me in search of new products for home and body. I recently received 15 samples of Alima Pure Cosmetics and I’m in love.
From the company website- “Mineral cosmetics from Alima are 100% certified natural. We use only the highest quality ingredients and no noxious chemicals. Alima mineral makeup is especially kind to sensitive skin.”
As a sensitive skin Mama, I can attest that these cosmetics treated my skin kindly. The foundation colors are lighter than I had expected. Standard protocol is for me to get lightest base possible (and sometimes even that is too dark), with Alima Pure I actually had to go three shades in. This is where ordering the sample jars comes in! What makeup company lets you order small jars ($1.00-$1.50 each) so you can try out the shades, feel, and application for several days before going all in?
What I love even more is knowing that its okay to dust a little shimmer powder on my daughters face while she watches me get ready in the morning. I also loved ordering sample jars for the girls dance recitals. Make-up is required when they are onstage (or the lighting completely washes them out) but I don’t want to put chemical filled cosmetics on my chemical free children.
The eye, cheek and lip shades are rich and long lasting. We’ve put them through hours under stage light and they fared beautifully. I’ve returned from a hot day at the zoo still looking radiant. (Well, as radiant as a mother of five can look after a day at the zoo in 90 degree weather!)
The company was founded in Portland Oregon, is an all natural product, is cruelty free and earned the BDIH Certified Natural Cosmetics seal of approval. Alima Pure has a jar recycling program as well. When you return five full size containers, you will get an eyeshadow free! Rewards for using a great product and being environmentally responsible? That’s my kind of company.

I’m a fan of their sparkly eye shadows and lip glosses. And the company as a whole. Not crazy about their foundation, though, as it just sat on my skin and was pretty obvious. I’ll be sticking with my foundation from The Body Shop for now.
