Laica Mineralbalance: Keep essential minerals while filtering tap water

The minerals present in the water are fundamental elements for human health as declared by the World Health Organization.

The minerals present in the water are fundamental elements for human health as declared by the World Health Organization.

Bottled water is evil. We know that.  Tap water can taste funny and is treated.  Filtering tap water is the best solution for urban and suburban dwellers (my country living water comes from a spring); however, many filters also remove beneficial minerals.

Made in Italy, [amazon_link id=”B00FGL06QQ” target=”_blank” ]Laica Stream Water Filter Pitcher with Bi-flux MineralBalance Filter System, J431H Yellow[/amazon_link] keeps the calcium and magnesium in your drinking water necessary for bone and teeth health.

Bi-flux Mineralbalance

Made in Italy, the Laica bi-flux filter preserves [1] the beneficial and essential minerals, Calcium and Magnesium, naturally present in tap water as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) [2]. Bi-flux technology maintains the right pH level in the water (6.5 to 9.5) without releasing [3] harmful ammonium, BPA [4], Epichlorohydrin, and Polyvinyl Chloride. Each bi-flux filter maintains the mineral balance in your water for up to 40 gallons, which is equivalent to 300+ 16 oz. water bottles. The mineral balancing properties of the Biflux Pitcher Cartridge have also been independently tested by the Water Quality Association (WQA). WQA is a not-for-profit international trade association representing the residential, commercial and industrial water treatment industry.

Footnotes:
  1. The overall average hardness (sum of the elements calcium and magnesium) of the filtered water, during the entire life cycle of the cartridge, does not undergo substantial variations with respect to the hardness of the water before filtration.
  2. The minerals present in the water are fundamental elements for human health as declared by the World Health Organization. Studies conducted by independent laboratories show that the bi-flux system maintains the right balance of calcium and magnesium minerals naturally present in tap water.
  3. Test carried out by independent laboratory. The Laica system conforms to European Regulation 1935/2004, to European Directive 98/83/EC and to Legislative Decree no. 31 of 2 February 2001.
  4. Pitcher and cartridge raw materials are BPA FREE. Testing carried out by independent laboratories.

I love that this water filter pitcher is made in Italy, whereas most are made in China.  I also appreciate it is BPA-free, but I would rather that at least the jug portion of the filter be made of glass.  I avoid plastic wherever possible.

Refrigerator water filters like this one are quite convenient, and I do think they promote increased hydration.

Having something like this around and in the refrigerator, like you said, definitely promotes hydration, but there are still some problems with this water filter. This filter is much like the hundreds of pitcher models on the market like the popular brita, as they do not, and cannot remove the minerals either. And while this filter has a catchy and pleasing name, it is much one of the same.
