What? A bottled water review?

Hmm, bottled water?

Hmm, bottled water?

I have been an outspoken critic of bottled water.  I find it equally as evil as single-use plastic bags.  Plastic bags may be banned in many cities, but I don’t know of a city that has yet banned bottled water.

Bottled water is one of the greatest scams of our life.  We have been sold into believing that water that sits in a plastic bottle for weeks to months before we drink it is somehow safer than our tap water.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, as I do drink bottled water when traveling.  I can’t tell you the amount I consumed in Mexico in January!  So, I try to approach this review with openness and understanding that there are times when you do need to consumer bottled water.

[amazon_link id=”B002674AZQ” target=”_blank” ]Volvic Natural Spring Water[/amazon_link] is naturally filtered by volcanoes in France. Who knew there were volcanoes in France?

Being “green” is widely regarded as a positive thing and you could be helping out the planet without even knowing it. Volvic water is naturally filtrated and is packaged in 100 percent recyclable eco-friendly bottles. Drawn from the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes in France, Volvic’s volcanic water source is equipped with a natural filter, funneling rainwater through porous layers of volcanic rock packed with healing minerals and transporting them straight into the classic Volvic eco-friendly square bottle.
The volcanic filtration helps produce an extremely pure, natural and organic water. Sustainable development is Volvic’s main priority and over the last 15 years, Volvic has reduced and continues to reduce the plastic weight of the Volvic bottle, all of which are partially made with post-consumer recycled plastic.
As far as bottled water goes, I think Volvic is trying to do the right thing.   Heck, I want my water to be naturally filtered by volcanic rock…instead it comes from the roots of an oak tree.
When faced with the need for bottled water, which should not be every day, choosing one that is more conscious is of course the better path.
