Fair Trade Sports Balls!

Fair Trade is a term often used in the sustainable, green community, and I remember first encountering it on chocolate and coffee labels. According to Alicia Erikson of Green Options, “The Fair Trade criteria (from the Fair Trade Federation) are:
Paying fair wages in local context;
Supporting participatory workplaces;
Ensuring environmental sustainability;
Supplying financial and technical support;
Respecting cultural identity;
Offering public accountability; and,
Educating consumers.”

Fair trade certification has moved beyond chocolate and coffee, to sports balls! Fair Trade Sports offers numerous products you can purchase for your child with a clear conscious. We have tested the size 3 soccer ball, which my children adore. These high quality sports balls help at-risk youth around the globe. 100% after-tax profits from Fair Trade Sports goes to children’s charities! In addition, all of the balls are stitched by adult workers paid fair wages in healthy working conditions. Buy purchasing Fair Trade Sports products, “Together we can break this cycle of poverty and oppression.”
