The Read Green Initiative

Go Read GreenWant a free digital magazine subscription? Check out The Read Green Initiative, they are offering a free digital subscription for one  year  to everyone who signs up at their site. You can get a digital subscription to Parenting (or one of the other magazines they offer) for free.

The Read Green Initiative is powered by the world’s largest publisher and distributor of digital magazines, Zinio.

Your first subscription is free but if you purchase other digital subscriptions part of the proceeds will be used to purchase eco credits for tree planting.

The magazine industry is really trying to green their ways as many people realize the amount of waste that literally piles up from discarded magazines, not to mention all the paper that is used to print the over 12 billion magazines that are published in the US every year.

Magazine associations are encouraging recycling and are looking into greener paper and printing options, but right now one of the greenest ways to read is by going digital and now you can…for free.
