Does your child have food allergies?

Does your child have food allergies? Many food allergies are very serious, even life-threatening.  Fortunately, my children do not suffer from any; however, I have friends and family that do.

Does your child have food allergies?

As a parent, I can’t imagine the fear that your child will accidentally intake peanuts or shellfish, for example.  Even though caregivers and schools are alerted of these allergies, there are substitutes and situations where it could happen accidentally or without knowledge.  This is especially concerning for toddlers that may not be able to to express or remember to inform about the seriousness of  their food allergy.

One solution to protecting our child with serious allergies is Allermates.  These latex-free wristbands alert others that your child has allergies.

AllerMates “I Have Allergies” wristbands, $6.99, are hypoallergenic, nickel, lead, latex, BPA and phthalate free.  The wristbands can be personalized on the back to inform of specific allergy sensitivities, medical, and emergency contact information.  To personalize, we recommend using a ballpoint pen, boil for 1 minute, and the ink becomes indelible.  Appropriate for any allergy … for 2 year olds, 12 year olds, 22 year olds and hip 52 year olds.

About AllerMates:
AllerMates has a full range of products that help identify children’s allergy and health issues through colorful, easily recognizable characters embossed on a proprietary brand of colorful alert wristbands, charms and other healthy kids’ support products. AllerMates products are made up of a large group of characters, with colorful images, backstories and easy–to-understand information about that particular allergy or health issue, each lovingly created by Founder, mompreneur, and CEO, Iris Shamus. The characters put a friendly, supportive face on all too common health issues like allergies, asthma, diabetes and autism using whimsical design and bold, colorful graphics.

It may be a challenge to get your young child to keep their allergy alerting wristband on, but most children learn at an early age that their food allergy is serious.  Allermates may relieve some of the stress and tension children feel as a result, by giving them an easy way to signal to others of their allergy and avoid potential intake.
If you have been reading Eco Child’s Play for awhile, you know my son has a congenital heart defect.  I remember a parent asking the doctor if her child should wear a medical alert bracelet about such a condition. The doctor’s response was the large scar from open heart surgery would alert any medical professional of the defect. For food allergies, there is no such warning.  A wristband can help.

All my kids have food allergies. Unfortunately, I passed this illness to them since I also have this health problem when I was young. My eldest son has asthma and her sister has this skin allergy. They are allergic to seafoods, eggs, chicken and spicy foods. I already had so many bad experiences. Anyway, I’m interested in this Allermates. How much will it cost if I will buy this online?
